New Hampshire officials say a biomass plant in Whitefield has agreed to pay $44,000 in fines as part of a settlement reached with the state over violations of air emission rules.
The Caledonian Record (http://bit.ly/2bTh0CI ) reports the state attorney general’s office and department of environmental services announced Wednesday that the decree between DG Whitefield LLC and the state was approved in Coos Superior Court.
The agreement resolves violations of the state’s Air Pollution Control Act.
Officials say the company performed a test in 2015 that showed emissions were about 60 percent above the permitted emissions limit for a 41-day period. Officials say DES took steps to bring the 19-megawatt generation facility back into compliance.
